Funding round

It has been reported that Bengaluru-based digital lender KreditBee raised $280 million in a Series E round at a $1.5 billion post-money valuation. The round was led by Motilal Oswal Alternates, Hornbill Capital and MUFG-backed Dragon Funds, with participation from WhiteOak Capital, A.P. Moller Holding, Premji Invest and Advent International. Fast, decisive, and well-backed — that’s one way to put it.

Growth, products and plans

It has been reported that KreditBee will use the capital to broaden its lending portfolio, deepen market presence and scale its AI capabilities for better risk assessment and personalised products. Founded in 2016 by Madhusudan E, Karthikeyan Krishnaswamy and Vivek Veda, the company operates through RBI-registered NBFC KrazyBee Services and co-lends with more than ten financial institutions. The platform reportedly boasts some big numbers: about 230 million app downloads, over 18 million unique loan customers, more than 60 million loans disbursed and assets under management of $1.5 billion as of March 2026.

KreditBee’s product mix spans personal and business loans, loans against property, two-wheeler loans, credit-report services and UPI offerings — a broad playbook in a crowded market. It has been reported that the company was valued at roughly $700–800 million after an extended Series D in January 2023, making this jump to unicorn status a rapid climb. Is this the validation lenders need to double down on fintech + AI? Many investors clearly think so.

This latest round makes KreditBee the third Indian unicorn of 2026 so far, following Neysa and Juspay. It has been reported that the firm had earlier discussed shifting domicile from Singapore to India as part of IPO preparations. Now, with fresh capital and high expectations, the real test begins: turning scale into sustainable profits.
